New Miniature Show - Snow Goose Gallery - Bethlehem PA

I am excited to have been invited to participate in the Twenty First Annual Invitational Miniature Art Exhibition at the Snow Goose Gallery, 470 Main Street, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania! (map)  There are 66 top miniature artists in the show and wow, it's such an honor to be included!  Because of recent family responsibilities, I have had a few major interruptions in my creative time.  Therefore, I didn't think I would be able to participate.  Also, my inventory of artwork was very low and I hadn't enough time to create any new pieces.  When I found out that another show I usually participate in was cancelled this year, it was the perfect opportunity to send that work, along with two earlier works to Snow Goose Galley!  Sometimes things just work out!!

The opening sounds like great fun!  I wish I was able to see this one in person.   Okay, I admit, I'd love to see them all in person!  If you are anywhere near Bethlehem, PA be sure to make the Snow Goose Gallery a visit.  You will be happy you did!  The work will also be up on the Snow Goose Gallery's website starting on the opening weekend, May, 4th until the end of the show.  The work will be available for purchase as well.  The only problem, will be, which ones to choose!  All beautiful jewels, they'd make the perfect gift for MOM!  As always, thank you for taking the time to read about my work.

The LiveARTS Bothell show will be taking place on Saturday and Sunday, June 25th and 26th.  The venue is the same place as last year at the new Mobius Hall Gallery on the campus of Cascadia Community College and U.W. Bothell.  There will be a Patron Preview Party on Friday June 24th, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with the awards presentation at 7:00. Please call for reservations at 425-398-0559 by June 10th. The college is located one mile east of downtown Bothell (directions and map here). The LiveARTS Bothell Art Fair is always great fun, with musical entertainment, great food and ART! There is free garage parking and the festival event will be in the inner courtyard of the wooded campus overlooking its 58-acre North Creek wetland.

This is a great community event and always lots of fun. I hope you can make it. Be sure to look for my work in the new Mobius Hall Gallery. The sun is going to shine that weekend!

I know I said I was working on a new drawing in silverpoint and would blog about it as a work in progress as soon as I had it finished.  I can with relief say that I did finally get it finished today (Friday) in time to submit it to a local competition!  I will blog about it and show the steps I took, hopefully by Monday!  I need to download the photos, organize and put my watermark and copyright on them.  In the meantime, I thought I'd share a sneak peek image of it.

First Place in Drawing - Miniature Painters, Sculptors, & Gravers Society in Washington DC

I received a great surprise in the mail yesterday from the Miniature Painters, Sculptors & Gravers Society in Washington D.C. (MPSGS). I am thrilled to have been given the First Place Award in Drawing for my work, A Flash of Blue!

I had already gotten the acceptance notice that all three of my works above, A Flash of Blue, Innocence and A Touch of Autumn were accepted into the Exhibition. This is the 4th year of having all my work accepted into this prestigious miniature art society. There are over 800 works in the exhibition this year. This is such a great honor and means so much to me.


The 77th Annual International Exhibition of Fine Art in Miniature opens with the Artists' Luncheon, Awards Ceremony and Opening Reception on November 21st. The Exhibition is held at The Mansion at the Strathmore, beautifully set on a hilltop at 10701 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD 20852. The Exhibit opens to the public on November 22nd through December 30th, 2010. The Mansion hours are Weekdays, 10 - 4 PM and Wednesday till 9 PM. Saturday it is open from 10 - 3 PM.


I sure wish I could be there, it's so far away! Sigh...


Also, a big Congratulations to all my online miniature artist friends who's work has also been awarded! As always, thank you for taking the time to read this.

Opening, Parklane Gallery Miniature Show

Parklane Gallery's 18th Annual International Juried Miniature Art Show will open at 9 am tomorrow, May 4th. I am happy to say all of my entries have been juried into the show. All five of them can be seen on the gallery's website at Parklanegallery.com. You can view my work starting on Panel # 49. The work in this show as viewed above, A Touch of Autumn, Wednesday, Late Afternoon, The Time Thief, The Sentinel, and The Way Home.

The award winning husband and wife team, Rachelle and Wes Siegrist were the awards judges, which will be given at the Artists' Reception on Saturday evening. The Siegrists will be at the reception via Skype. A selection of their work will be available for view and sale at the show along with copies of their new book, Exquisite Miniatures. You can find out more about their work on their website at artofwildlife.com. Parklane Gallery is located in beautiful downtown Kirkland,WA, 130 Park Lane. Free parking is located under the Kirkland Library. The show will continue through June 8th. This show is always well attended and by looking at all the great work and list of outstanding artists participating in this show, it will be even more so this year! I'll be going to the Artists' Reception on Saturday, May 8th, 6 - 8 pm. Let me know if you are going to be there, I'd love to meet you! I'll have more to say after the reception on Saturday, so be sure to check back.

All 5 Works Accepted in 2009 MASF!

I've received my acceptance letter from the Miniature Art Society of Florida, (MASF) and I'm so happy to have all five of my miniatures accepted into this wonderful exhibit! This show along with the other miniature art society show, Miniature Painters, Sculptors & Gravers Society, (MPSGS) are the two biggest deals for a miniature artist in this country. I'm always so pleased to have my work get juried in these two shows!! My five miniatures in the MASF show are, A Touch of Autumn, Buddha in the Pacific Northwest, Joey, and the two new works, Wednesday,Late Afternoon, and The Key.

This work is done on Dura-lar Matte film. I have been fascinated with crows lately, they keep appearing in my work!

The 35th Annual International Miniature Art Show runs from January 17th, through February 7th, 2010 at the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art in Tarpon Springs, FL.
